It was an unexpected beginning—how the principles of yoga became my therapy. It started after a very overwhelming and stressful day at work. I needed to clear my mind so I went for a walk in the village. My heart was beating fast and my body felt completely numb. My life was off course. Anxiety and panic threatened to take over. Where were the solutions that would give me relief?
The wind was blowing and I felt like I would be carried away. It seemed to push me towards a sign about massage therapy and I decided to make an appointment. That was the beginning, which eventually led to yoga, me becoming a yogatherapist and starting a business.
Massagetherapy was good for the stress I was having then, and I continue to use it as part of my self-care now. I had some other underlying health conditions which led me to acupuncture and homeopathy. From there, yoga was suggested. I tried it and fell in love. After the first class, there was a surprising spring in my step on my walk home.
Later I trained as a children’s yoga teacher and began teaching classes. I loved seeing children learn and have so muchfun with yoga. I next found yoga therapy and adult teacher training courses. I decided to take both of them. The next few years were spent training. The courses were hard, but also very rewarding . I was finally at home with myself.
